Covid-19 and Opening Day Update

Greetings from The Management and Staff at Sally Creek Golf Club!

We hope that you are all well, staying safe and keeping busy during this trying time. As we enter another month of the Provincial State of Emergency due to Covid-19 we want to give you our update with what we are doing here at Sally Creek Golf Club to prepare and be ready to launch the 2020 Golf Season as soon as we can safely do so.

As the latest update from Premier Ford states the Provincial State of Emergency has been extended for another 28 days which now moves our hope of opening the golf course for play to Monday May 11th. I know many of you, just like myself, probably responded to this news with a heavy sigh. However, when we look at calendars from years past and opening dates, really we are not that far off from a normal seasonal opening. Even in the best of times our weather in Southwestern Ontario is unpredictable and will delay our openings due to extended winters, heavy rains and flooding in Spring, and this season we are faced with the unpredictability of Covid-19. We are however doing everything we can to be prepared to open the course and welcome you all with smiles, exceptional customer service and the fellowship that the game of golf is synonymous for.

Our owners and management team continue to remain in touch with one another and provide updates from other colleagues and industry contacts. Updating our plans and policies that will usher in a new standard for golf to keep you all safe when we do open for play. Our Superintendent and Grounds Crew continue working when necessary to keep fairways, greens and tee boxes cut so that the course is in top playing conditions. And we will continue to make adjustments to Leagues, Member-Guest and Greens-Fee Events and Specials to provide our guests with the best value for golf when the season begins.

We all want to be on the course hitting that perfect drive, chipping in or making that amazing final putt after a frustrating round that brings us back for more, but we have to remain patient until we are able to share and enjoy this amazing game of golf together again. Please be respectful and do not come to the golf course. We have put up caution tape and signage asking you to not be on the grounds for ANY activity during this crisis which includes Walking, Bike Riding on pathways and most certainly NO GOLFING.

Help us to open Sally Creek Golf Club in the best condition possible. Stay Home, Be Safe, Be Patient. Continue to do what health officials are asking from all of us and together we can open and get back to enjoying golf, friendships and those amazing shots on the course sooner rather than later.

Keep watching our website and facebook page for updates, videos and tips on how you can practise and prepare to hit that first tee shot down the middle, chip closer and make more putts. Together we can beat this virus.

Yours In Golf,

Gavin Mifflin Golf
